Aprés ski, sans ski
The vibes I’m channeling this winter in NYC, my no skis required wishlist, & the aprés shopping treat in Tribeca you simply must try
Some people have the Met gala, I have ski season. Unlikely parallel? Sure, but If you're a fashion lover you probably spend the week leading up to the first Monday in May anticipating & the night-of refreshing the carpet live stream endlessly. It’s fashion’s biggest night and what’s better than being a couch critic. This is exactly how I feel about ski season because-and I say this with my full chest-you’re more likely to see me walking the steps of the Met Gala as an attendee, invited by Anna Wintour herself- than you are likely to catch me on the slopes. Winter sports, sports in general, but mainly those in frigid icy conditions, terrify me to my core. Your romantic winter date ice skating at Rockefeller center à la Elf? My idea of hell. I wish I was hyperbolizing when I say that I started crying once when I got within 50 ft of an ice skating rink but alas.
While the sport itself and I don’t mix, I do LIVE for ski season on socials. Are you in Aspen or Gstaad? Pucci snowsuit? Celine goggles? Did you get a Kemo Sabe hat to never wear but keep as a token of your trip? I devour it all and I have to say, I do miss out on participating in the fashion and the après. Sipping a warm bev in a snowy lodge with a crackling wood fireplace whilst I look like I just jumped out of a Slim Aarons photograph does sound compelling but I’ll happily settle for my own two feet sans skis on the streets of New York. In past years, NYC winters have been balmy and bland to say the least but this year there’s a distinct chill in the air that makes me hopeful for snow and the vibe that it entertains. So, if you see me navigating 7th wearing shorty Moon Boots in murky grey slush, please keep your thoughts to yourself. I’m trying to have a moment here!
Emi Jay star earmuffs-chilly ears are as much a mood killer as wet sleeves imo. Loving this mocha color and the deep cherry red!
Powder blue and red is one of my absolute fave color combos and Marni in brushed Alpaca on sale? Say less, I’m sold.
This is the winter of the balaclava. I’m seeing everything from coquette lace up bonnet balaclavas to cashmere balaclavas with attached scarves. I'm eyeing this starry one from Perfect Moment in burgundy and light pink!

Moon Boots. I’ve wanted a pair for years but my imposter syndrome has stopped me. But now that it’s mid January and I’ve almost face planted 3 times on ice while wearing my Uggs I think it might be time to bite the Moon Boot bullet. This cream furry pair with chocolate brown laces and rainbow beads that will almost certainly get dirty after their first outing couldn’t be more impractically perfect!
Though I’m typically not a gourmand girly, Dyptique just release an Amande candle inspired by French king cake. As per usual with Diptyque, their scents are never “one note” so always expect the unexpected. Amande combines notes of almond, sandalwood, and iris. Sounds so cozy and fresh!
Skims long sleeve and boxer pj set in the most adorable woodland mushroom print! I got these for Christmas and have been lounging in them ever since. They’re on final sale too which means you too can snag a super cute Skims set for under $50.
What’s more après sans ski chalet chic than canteen style stainless mugs and saucers complete with tiny spoons?!
Glossier’s newest flavor/shade of Balm Dotcom in Black Cherry. We can’t have dry lips on the
slopesstreets!Everyone needs a playful winter knit for layering. Two that are high up on my wishlist are this dachshund cardigan from Fabrique- I saw the queen of chic Kelly Rutherford wearing it and now it happily haunts me. The details are to die-check out the tortoise flower buttons! Also, always obsessed with the ever iconic Princess Diana black sheep sweater from Warm and Wonderful.

Varley zip up sherpa with chocolate brown accents-another gift from Santa that I’ve worn non stop.
Rhode Barrier Butter. In tandem with a new moisturizer from TaTa Harper, Rhode’s Glazing Milk completely changed my skin’s once dry and patchy terrain. I’ve been hooked on the brand ever since and next up on my hit list is their newest product, Barrier Butter, an intensive moisture hydrating balm. Sign me up! For the perfect cold-kissed cheek flush, I highly recc. their Pocket Blush in Toasted Teddy.
I was going to include a mini fondue pot on this list but then I thought-who the fuck do you think you are and in what NYC apartment do you think you have the space to store a fondue pot in?! Not me and most certainly not my NYC studio. I landed on this very cute Le Creuset mini cocotte (I love that word!). It’s the perfect size for a wheel of brie, some finely chopped thyme, nuts, and dried cherries. Sprinkle with some flaky salt, drizzle with olive oil, and bake for 30ish min at 325 and you have the easiest, most delish, melted cheesy faux fondue. Serving with colorful Sabre Paris butter knives is optional but highly encouraged.

Glorified socks with sandals but hear me out-This pair of suede Miu Miu shearling mules with the penny loafer detailing are high, high, high up on my wishlist as are these bandana socks by Alanui. I’m having a hard time justifying the price because they aren’t pure wool or cashmere but a couple months back I got a classic Alanui bandana cardigan and it’s probably my most cherished/complimented piece so I’m confident I’d get good use out of the socks.
This Ed Ruscha print is simply fab and I might need it for my 2025 bathroom revamp.
An aprés sweet, no skis required
To know me, is to know that I’m obsessed with Rigor Hill Market in Tribeca. I love my little studio in the hustle and bustle of Chelsea don’t get me wrong but if I were ever to move neighborhoods, Tribeca would be a major contender only because it’s home to my most cherished cafe/market hybrid. Friendly people who are also dog friendly, wicker baskets overflowing with fresh fruit and veggies, and inventive yet still comforting grab and go options galore. My go to order will always be the turkey sandwich-simple in theory but so divine that when they tried to replace it last year with a new offering, the social media outcry from regulars was enough to make them bring our beloved sandwich back for good. For a decadent treat that will warm you up and ready you for hibernation after a day spent out in the cold, grab a cup of their hot chocolate. This is no ordinary hot chocolate. For one, it comes in a paper bowl and is best slurped with a spoon. The marshmallows are homemade and torched to toasty perfection. The chocolate itself is really high quality and molten, thick enough to coat your spoon. If you’ve had hot chocolate at Angelina or Carette in Paris- you know the vibe. 12/10

I live for your writing -- from the snuggly comfort of my home. I think "I'll make a hot chocolate!
