Over the past few weeks, I’ve been uncharacteristically social-rsvping to events weeks in advance, not feigning illness the day before, and even showing up solo. It’s always a bit of a mental shift meeting people I’ve seen on my fyp hundreds of times irl and having to pretend like I didn’t just watch their daily vlog on the F train.
In these recent interactions I’ve received a specific compliment quite a few times (ok, 3 times, but it feels significant): that I know things-not in a know-it-all way, but I do pride myself on knowing cool stuff*. Whether it's a pop-up worth waiting in line for (rare), a hot brand, a new store, an exciting collab, or a buzzy restaurant I’ve tried or want to, I strive to always be in the know. Full disclosure, though-when it comes to the restaurant scene, I rely on cool girls much more in the know than I am, like @crumbsofnyc and @foodiehabibi, for the real scoop.
I’ve never been a gatekeeper-it's just not in me. Not only does it scream mean girl, it also shuts down the kind of connection I crave so deeply as a painfully introverted extrovert. Small talk isn’t my strong suit, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t spend most conversations with new people wondering what comes after the pleasantries.
Sure, sometimes I pull out my treasure chest of buzzy tidbits when a conversation stalls, but more often, it’s when I feel I know you well enough to share a new find or recommendation that suits your tastes and fits your vibe. A curated conversation, shall we say?
I truly thrive in the “have you been?” “did you see?” “you need to check this out!” “I know you’d love this!” part of a convo. And I love that we can use this new info as a point of connection, obsess over it together, and maybe even start a friendship. We're linked by the cool things we now know and love.
So, here’s all the fab stuff you need to know this week! When you’re out sipping a spritz tonight, vying for a coveted seat at that new no-rez, first-come-first-serve spot, I want you spilling all your new knowledge. Go forth and share, gals!
*cool according to me-all things new, fun, and above all fab! If you don’t agree that’s okay-at least you know!
The Coveteur is back!
Fashion gals & resident nosy girls rejoice! The Coveteur is back with fresh content and it’s under the new creative leadership of vetted cool girl, Faith Xue. Expect insider scoops and the coveted opportunity to snoop through the closets and collections of the most fashionable, chic people we know (and follow).
Frēda Salvador x Don’t Let Disco
Now we can Birkin-ify our ballet flats with the new Don’t Let Disco beaded charms! Obsessed with their woven flats made from Spanish leather. How cute would a pair of those with a charm and maybe some fun anklets be for summer?!
Sidia has a new très fab collab w/ the spa at The Hotel Chelsea!! Their new candle has notes of mandarin flower, jasmine, blush sweet rose, and vetiver. For maximum vibes-have a long bath, crack open a copy of Just Kids and light her up!

The Mark Clam Bar & the art that sells it
Every year, Jean-Georges develops a pop-up concept outside The Mark with a fresh theme. One year it was a Swiss chalet, complete with fur throws and fondue, another, a mini ABCV. This spring, JG & co have gone for a streetside clam bar vibe, giving that "I tried to make it out east but, you know... traffic" energy (sad face). But don’t be fooled, Caviar Kaspia is boldly plastered on the awning. I mean this is The Mark, after all. Resy
Will I try it? Maybe. Probably. Yes. But who really piques my interest and someone you need on your cool girl radar (antennas out girls) is Collier Barksdale, the multi-hyphenate artist who designed and illustrated all the artwork. I first spotted her eye catching visuals during NYFW, when she illustrated Moda Operandi's NYC map guide. She takes commissions, too. Good to keep in our pockets bc I know my gals love a website/substack rebrand when the vibe is just not it anymore.

A new clothing brand is debuting their colorful line this weekend at Abbode. Their first collection features interchangeable colorful suiting pieces-kind of giving Odd Muse day to night capsule collection vibes but more energetic and colorful.

Design studio Rotganzen is debuting new work in NYC! You’ve likely seen their iconic melting disco ball sculptures which were discovered by none other than, Kelly Wearstler. Contact them via email for showroom appointments.

This just in!
Tarin Thomas’ vintage popup on Mott St has extended through May. Yay! I thought the curation was super fab & reasonably priced. Also, the space itself is tiny but designed beautifully with intention. You could stick a mattress in there, call it a chic studio apartment w/ natural light in soho and someone (me) would happily shell out 3k a month to live there.
Parke is returning for their second NYC popup on May 16th. More on that in next week’s newsletter but whether you’re a Parke girly or not, it’s worth knowing about because as to be expected, Chelsea and her team have an eye for rounding up all the cool girl brands and delivering them to us, the cool girls. The pop up will host Timeless Pearly, Montauk General Store, Nou, Shop Spicy Dan and many more. Yes there will be lines, long ones, but hey, at least you know the buzz.

Ok the mark clam bar looks soooo cute
Shhh! My show is on!
